Cashmere Ryan is a self-taught digital artist and graphic designer from Harare, Zimbabwe currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He boasts a very impressive and diverse portfolio of client work ranging from music cover art designs, book cover designs, event posters to corporate branding and logo designs.
His personal art reflects his journey of self-discovery (understanding who he is as a black person in today's world), interests in pop culture, music and nature. There is heavy emphasis on bold colours, textures and layering.
"My journey in discovering and accepting who I am as an artist has been a long one and has truly felt like the craziest roller coaster ride. At every turn and stage, the work that I created reflected who I was. So I might look at work from 2019 and be slightly disappointed at technique or might even cringe but when I made it then, I was extremely proud and so I need to champion every era regardless because all of those eras brought me to this point and moulded me into who I am now - Cashmere Ryan"
